Hi again-We met you in Oregon when you had just picked up your sweet BIG baby. He looks great and what amazing things you have him doing for such a young boy. We really like all the pictures and thoroughly enjoyed your stories from your adventure "Journey for Vievo". Will you be coming back to Oregon for any camping soon? We'd love to meet up and ride with you. We're in Medford.

Hello Roberta and Tina for the nice compliments.
Very good questions. My Haffi and most Haffis can carry very heavy weight without any problems. They're big boned and really tuff little animals. Love the personalities. I haven't found anything that I can't take him up or down. The other one is actually and Oberlander, not a Belgian (although he does look alot like one). The Oberlander is the Miracle Grow version of the Haflinger, lots of stamina and very sure footed, easy keeper. My husband weighs around 265 and he (the Oberlander) is the perfect size for him. I know the big guys can be intimidating, but they are very loving and easy to handle, if trained correctly from youth. If you ride heavy trails, I would consider a breed bred for mountainous, tough terrain areas. Good luck and keep us posted.

what beauties you all have there. love that haffie I like his build stocky without being muscle bound but strong, and balanced looking proportions. question I am looking inot halfies, are there haffies out there that can carry 270 pounds easily enough? and that belgian you have there does the size make them harder to control? and that wide stance how does that affect their strides and comfort all all gaits when riding? will a belgian take advantage of people because of their large size? do they know they are large? by the way is that all there is to ride around there are mountains? some of those others horses were nice, did I see a spotted saddle horse there? what were the other horses? thanks.
